Description

Of all the honeys in our apothecary, this is the one people fall in love with on the very first taste.

We start with damascena rose petals — the same variety that has scented Persian gardens, Mughal courts, and Bulgarian valleys for over a thousand years. To the petals, we add rose hips (the small, ruby-red fruit the rose leaves behind once its bloom is spent), organic Ceylon cinnamon bark, and freshly cracked green cardamom pods. Everything goes into raw local honey, where it steeps slowly at low temperatures over several weeks until the honey itself takes on a faint blush and a perfume that is unmistakable.

In the Persian and Indian apothecary, rose has always been considered an herb of the heart — both literally, as a traditional cardiovascular tonic, and emotionally, as a softener of tension, grief, and overwhelm. Cardamom is the "queen of spices" in Ayurveda, paired with rose for centuries to support comfortable digestion and aromatic clarity. Rose hips quietly contribute their well-known abundance of naturally occurring vitamin C.

Ingredients & Sourcing

Ingredients: Raw local honey, organic rose petals (Rosa damascena), organic rose hips (Rosa canina), organic Ceylon cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum verum), organic cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum).

Sourcing: All botanicals are USDA-certified organic, selected for their aromatic potency and traditional pedigree. Honey is raw, unfiltered, and locally sourced.

Caution: Contains honey. Not suitable for infants or children under one year of age. Consult your healthcare provider if pregnant, nursing, or taking medication.

How to Use

Suggested serving: Take 1 teaspoon daily, or as desired.

  • Stir into rose milk, hot tea, or chai for a fragrant evening ritual.
  • Drizzle over fresh berries, yogurt, labneh, or vanilla ice cream.
  • Spread on warm croissants, scones, or buttered toast.
  • Add to baklava, rice pudding, or any cardamom-forward dessert.
  • Take a spoonful straight when the day asks for a softer landing.
  • Stir into a face mask of oats and warm water for a gentle, glow-supporting treatment.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Crystallization is natural and does not affect quality — gently warm the jar in a bowl of warm water to re-liquefy.

Learn More

The pairing of rose and cardamom is one of the oldest love stories in the herbal world. From the gulkand preserves of India, to the rose-cardamom cookies of Iran, to the rose-scented Turkish lokum, this pairing has carried weight in apothecaries and pantries alike for over a thousand years.

In Western herbalism, rose is considered a nervine — an herb that gently tones and supports the nervous system — and is traditionally reached for in moments of grief, overwhelm, or emotional armor. Cardamom and cinnamon, both warming spices, balance rose's cooling, astringent quality and have long been used in Ayurvedic and Persian traditions to support comfortable digestion. Rose hips, the often-overlooked fruit of the rose, are a traditional source of naturally occurring vitamin C, flavonoids, and a quiet, nourishing depth.

The first scent is rose.

Then cardamom rises behind it like a secret.

Then, cinnamon, holding the room steady.

One honey. Three cleanly layered voices.

This is What Romance Tastes Like.
