Description
Elderberry has been a cornerstone of traditional wellness kitchens for centuries. Prized across European and North American folk herbalism for its rich antioxidant content and deep, berry-forward flavor. Our Elderberry Syrup honors that lineage while bringing something unmistakably LaLumi to the jar: warmth, intention, and a recipe worth savoring.
Each small batch begins with organic elderberries, decocted with ginger root for gentle heat, grapefruit peel for a citrus brightness, ceylon cinnamon for depth, and a whole vanilla bean that rounds out the flavor into something almost dessert-like. The finished decoction is preserved in raw local honey and a measure of bourbon, which extends shelf life while adding a smooth, mellow finish.
The result is a syrup that's rich, aromatic, and layered. Take it by the spoonful as a daily seasonal companion, stir it into tea, or drizzle it over warm oatmeal. However you enjoy it, this is elderberry the way it was meant to be.

Learn More
Elderberry (Sambucus nigra) is one of the most widely used herbs in Western folk medicine. Traditionally valued for its deep purple pigments—which indicate a high concentration of anthocyanins and flavonoids—elderberry has been a seasonal kitchen staple for generations.
In traditional European herbalism, elderberry preparations were made each autumn in preparation for the colder months, often combined with warming spices like ginger and cinnamon to create a comforting, nourishing ritual.
